CNN Anchor Campbell Brown Battles Mold In Her Old Apartment

CNN Anchor Campbell Brown was forced to leave her apartment in January 2009 because of elevated mold levels and sickness to her family.

In September 2008, her son, Eli James, developed a cold that wouldn’t end. She took him to numerous doctors that were unable to diagnose the problem.

“It was crazy to me,” Brown said. “The doctors couldn’t figure it out. I would get home at 9:30 or 10, and he would wake himself up with these horrible coughing attacks.”

But Brown noticed two days into a vacation to Florida, the symptoms went away.

Subsequently, she saw something on one of the walls of their home that looked unusual. After doing some research, Brown was convinced it was mold and her son was showing the symptoms of mold exposure.

After some testing, mold specialists confirmed her findings and advised them to leave. Once Brown and her family had evacuated that home, her son immediately got better.

This is so often the case with mold exposure. An individual exhibits no symptoms prior to exposure, symptoms throughout exposure and then no symptoms after they leave the environment.
